Prince Ferdinand of Saxony-Coburg-Gotha, spouse of queen Maria II, fulfilled himself the construction of a long-cherished wish for a summer residence. He engaged the German architect Baron von Eschwege. The construction has different architectural styles and is equipped with a collection of unusual objects from all aver the world. The property reminds more on Disney Land. The museum is since 1910 so preserved as if the royal family would just have left the rooms. The ballroom is particularly remarkable.
