Castelo dos Mouros, a Moorish castle of the 9th century are ruins  today. The ramparts have been carefully restored. The way through the wooded hills up to the castle is worth-while. From the battlements, you can have a fantastic look over Sintra, the villas of the surroundings and by clear weather, even over the coast. Do not forget your binocular!
